A testimonial from a client (Jan. 2012)
"Hi geoff
Just wanted to let you know that today (my son) has received a
statement of educational needs! Soo pleased he's going to get the help
he needs now until he's caught up. He gets 15 hours a week an there's
loads of ideas to be put into place. Anyway I just wanted to say a
big thank you to you because without your advice I would of maybe just
thought the school knew best and I would never of applied for it.
Thanks again and hope all is well at your end."

A testimonial from a client (2010)
"We
felt quite nervous about home tutoring, as our daughter has special
needs (autism) but it's been a very positive step. The tutor is always
punctual, and provides great feedback after each lesson. He has even
recommended various websites for her to go on. We are starting to see
improvements already in her school work; and school has commented on her
improved reading. She looks forward to every lesson, and we as parents
think Confident Kids Home Tuition is a fantastic service. To see her
making progress in subjects is invaluable. It is a very quick, no fuss
set up; a fabulous service - just wish we'd contacted the agency
sooner!"

A testimonial from a client (2011)
"It
went really well, she made Nat feel really at ease and has given her
pointers to be able to remember how to do things she gets stuck on. Nat
is looking forward to going back next Sunday."

"I consider Confident Kids Home
Tuition as an essential tool in my child's education and would
wholeheartedly endorse them to any parent considering using their
services."

A testimonial from a client (Oct. 2011):
Definitely (would recommend Confident kids Tuition) as Samantha has made massive progress with her work and the tutor fully understands her level of need. I feel I can discuss any concerns with her tutor and he is always willing to help. Samantha has a learning disability and does not like school but she
loves going to learn with Geoff. He has improved her as a person and her
standard of work at a level she understands and learns from. He is a
valuable person during Samantha's school years of learning.
Mrs V. Jones (Ashton-in-Makerfield)
A testimonial from a client (Oct. 2011):
Geoff has given my son more confidence with his numbers by engaging with
him in a way which now makes him smile! He loves going and really
enjoys the freeplay at the end of the lesson. Thanks Geoff xx
Mrs M. Shack (Lowton)
A testimonial from a client (Oct. 2011):
Geoff is a fantastic tutor, he worked with Charlie back in 2009/2010 -
at the time they concentrated on Charlie's reading and attention span as
well as other items. Unfortunately the time slot that we had booked
proved hard for us to attend and we had to cancel the session. During
the holidays my husband and I decided that Charlie needed some
additional 1 on 1 tuition to assist with his hand writing. We didn’t
even consider going anywhere else as we loved the service that Geoff
provided and he has still remained in contact via email. We were over
the moon when Geoff advised that a Saturday morning slot had come up. We
can’t thank Geoff enough for all the hard work that he does with
Charlie. His techniques and skills have excited Charlie and encouraged
him to try new things at home.
Mrs C. Crompton (Lowton)
A testimonial from a client:"Our nine year old daughter has been attending Confident Kids Home Tuition since Christmas to help her with Numeracy. In this short time the change we have seen in Lucy's attitude and confidence towards this subject has been outstanding. Through the hour session a number of different teaching techniques are used, focusing on Lucy's individual needs. We are continually kept updated regarding her progress and key areas to help her progress. Lucy actually looks forward to her Numeracy tuition - which is a real credit to Geoff who has encouraged, nurtured and given a once 'number shy' girl the belief that numbers are fun! We look forward to seeing continued success in Lucy."

A testimonial from a
client:
"Joseph is eleven years old and has
been attending Confident Kids Home Tuition over the past few months to help him
prepare for his KS2 tests. Since attending, Joseph has gained confidence, and a
greater understanding of literacy. He has benefited from one to one tuition
where his individual learning style was assessed and various teaching
techniques where introduced. I received constant updates and progress reports
from Geoff and numerous learning aids in the form of various Internet sites
where Joseph could practise what he had learnt. Joseph enjoys his time with
Geoff and is no longer afraid of English. His school teachers have observed an overall
improvement in his work and he went into his KS2 tests confident. I would not
hesitate to recommend Geoff to other parents."

A testimonial from a client:
"He
(Joseph) got his results yesterday and got an overall level 4 in
reading, writing and spelling... the English result is down to you.
Thanks very much - Joseph is over the moon!"

A text from a client re the 1st lesson:
"She loved it! Non stop talking(about it). I've promised her she can go on the games (online) tomorrow. Thank you!"
V. McKinnell
A testimonial from a client:
"Our
daughter is thoroughly enjoying her home tuition with Geoff Ashton.
Mondays cannot come soon enough for her, she has come on leaps and
bounds with her maths and her confidence has excelled.
Geoff
gives us excellent feedback at the end of each lesson and gives us
handy websites that she can use between her tuition to improve her
understanding of maths. Money well spent."

A testimonial from a client:
"For some time now our son has struggled with his maths and was in serious danger of falling behind his classmates.
Since joining 'Confident Kids Home Tuition' he has become just that....confident.
Whilst
obviously benefiting from the 'one-on-one' tuition, Mr Ashton's
relaxed, fun approach to learning has left Jamie looking forward to each
lesson, a far cry from the child who looked terrified at the very
mention of a 'Number Bond'.
Constant,
positive feedback has encouraged our child and left us re-assured that
Jamie's recent progress in his numeracy skills will long continue."
Laura Elphinstone
A testimonial from a client:
"Our
nine year old daughter (with moderate learning difficulties) has been
attending Confident Kids Home Tuition for several months now to help her
with her comprehension and numeracy. In this time Geoff has been able
to work with Samantha in the way that she learns as this is different to
the average child due to her special needs. Geoff has advised us on
the support that school could offer and how we need to approach them.
Samantha actually looks forward the tuition - which is a credit to Geoff
who has encouraged and nurtured a girl who once disliked learning. We
are looking forward to seeing the continued progress that Samantha makes
with Geoff within her comprehension and numeracy. I would highly
recommend anyone to try tuition with Geoff as I feel they will not be
disappointed.

A testimonial from a client:
"Just
want to say thank you again for your help with Lewis. The last few days
after seeing you he has been happy to do work at home and has been
trying very hard; no doubt this is partly due to your help building his
confidence."
Kerrie Simm
A testimonial from an ex-pupil (now 20!):
"Being
an ex-pupil of Geoff's I can firmly say that he was one of the best
teachers I have ever had. He was extremely focused on education and
brought it to our class in a fun way and everybody looked forward to his
lessons. Bringing a variety of teaching methods to the classroom made
sure each individual pupil was taken care of and this was something I
thought was really helpful. I'm sure my classmates would agree that he
was one of the best teachers at Brook Lodge and I'm sure he's missed
there. It was a joy being taught by Mr. Ashton, it's a shame he's not a
lecturer!"
Robyn Bilsborrow
A testimonial from a client:
"Having
recently been diagnosed with ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity
Disorder) our child has been having difficulties at school for years,
which have been partially ignored by the system. He lacks confidence in
reading and writing, and has had other troubles with various aspects of
school life due to his low standard of school-work and because of the
ADHD. Geoff has not only been an inspiration to our son in giving him
the self-belief to read and write (he even looks forward to seeing Geoff
for lessons), but also Geoff has spent extra time outside of his usual
hours to offer information on the services available to us as parents;
and advised us on the rights we have to get the help our son so dearly
needs. We would personally like to thank Geoff for the support, and at
times patience, he has shown us and the care he has given to our child.
He has shown that he sincerely cares about our child's education and
that he believes in the right way of doing things. Thank you."

A testimonial from a client:
Keiran
is 7yrs old and has been going to Geoff for 6 months. I was struggling
to get funding for the help he needed through his school, becoming
increasingly frustrated with the system. So I decided to explore the
options within private tuition and came across the ‘Confident Kids Home
Tuition' website. After speaking to Geoff we decided to give it a try.
Geoff is a very calming and patient teacher who is clearly passionate
about teaching children. Keiran settled very quickly into his lessons
and I could clearly see the progress he was making from an early stage.
He has really taken to Geoff and looks forward to his lesson each week.
Keiran’s increasing confidence and improvement in his reading is down
to the way Geoff matches the teaching style and methods exactly to his
needs. Keiran’s class teacher has commented on the improvement in his
work and overall behaviour, she feels this is probably due to Keiran now
feeling more able to follow what is being taught in the class and
actively contribute to the lesson. I would have no hesitation in
recommending Geoff as a tutor, it was the best decision I have made.
Louise Curnow
A testimonial from a client:
I would like to thank you very much for all the help you have given Keiran over the past year, it's been a bit of a struggle financially some months
but looking back I can confidently say it's been worth every penny as he has made so much progress during his time with you. If I feel he is in need
of any further help in the future I wouldn't hesitate to contact you again.

A testimonial from a client:
We are very happy with the progress Joe has made under your tuition and are very grateful for the support you have given to him. Thanks again for your dedication and efforts. We would like to keep open the possibility of Joe having more lessons with you in the future.

Rainford Brook Lodge CP School
30th November 2009
Reference for Mr. Geoff
Ashton
Mr Ashton joined the staff of Rainford Brook Lodge in September 1994
as a newly qualified teacher and was a valued member of the staff team for
sixteen years. During that time he
taught throughout the school, from Foundation Stage to Year 6, both as a class
teacher (Years 2, 3, 5 and 6) and as a Science teacher, covering P.P.A.
(Preparation, Planning and Assessment) time for staff. He demonstrated his flexibility by his
willingness to change year groups when this was in the best interest of the
children and the school and could be relied upon to work to the best of his
ability whatever the challenge.
In 2005 his role at Brook Lodge extended to leadership and management
of Key Stage Two and he also became the school’s Inclusion Manager with
responsibility for ensuring that all children with Special Educational Needs
received the support essential for them to make the best possible progress. This role required him to liaise with
parents and outside agencies so that everyone was working together in the best
interests of the child. It
required effective time management and excellent organisational skills so that
meetings could be held within specific time scales with all parties
present. Mr. Ashton approached all
aspects of his work with true professionalism. He was an excellent manager and was respected by all.
Within this busy schedule Mr. Ashton was also accountable for raising standardsin Science and developed a revised whole school policy for Science, in addition
to taking the lead in this key priority for the school. He developed a comprehensive tracking
system in order to track children’s attainment in Science throughout the school
and raised standards through quality first teaching and focused intervention
where required.
Mr. Ashton is an excellent team player. He is well liked and respected by colleagues, parents and
the many pupils who have benefited from his teaching. He demonstrates excellent organisational and management
skills and was a valued member of our Senior Management Team.
I wish him every success in the future.
Yours sincerely

A reference from a former governor (and parent) of Rainford Brook Lodge CP School, St.Helens (2009):
Dear Sir/Madam,
Reference:
Geoff Ashton
I have had the pleasure of working with Geoff in various
capacities relating to Brook Lodge Community Primary School including setting
up the school web site, my time as a governor at the school and later we worked
together on the school’s ICT committee.
Geoff was instrumental in pursuing the exploitation of ICT
in the school as a means of raising performance and adding another option to
the way the curriculum can be delivered. He also conscientiously developed the
ICT facilities to help other staff, teaching and non-teaching, to run the
school effectively and efficiently.
Geoff has taught my children and they have remarked in the
past on how they enjoyed his lessons. His enthusiasm and dedication to teaching
shines through in difficult times when bureaucracy seems to be forever restricting
the time teachers have. His pursuit of making lessons not only effective but
engaging, rewarding and enjoyable for the children is testimony to his
professionalism and the high values he holds for what really matters.
I wish Geoff every success with his new venture and
whole-heartedly endorse his approach to teaching.
Yours faithfully
